Responsible Kitchen

We encourage iChef sellers to think carefully about their responsibilities. Cooking offers rich experiences, but it comes with a certain level of commitment. In addition to the Serving Standards, here are some ways you can be a responsible Chef.*

Neighbor Hotline

We’ve opened a toll-free neighbor hotline for our community. If you're a neighbor of an iChefz Chef in the U.S. and need to get in touch with us, please email us.

We take trust and safety very seriously. Although iChef sellers on our platform are ultimately responsible for food safety, they are personally vetted by our team and are held to high standards.

We have our own interview and background check process that each Chef must complete before they can offer food on the platform. We merely provide a platform for independent iChef sellers to offer their food. Accordingly, food safety remains the ultimate responsibility of the Chef from whom you purchase.

Food Handler Card

iChefz requires that all of our iChef sellers complete their applicable state Food Handler Card course, a food safety training course. Before they are allowed to post their food, each Chef must provide proof of course completion.

Chef Interview

As part of our vetting process, all potential iChefz iChef sellers are required to complete an interview with one of our Chef Support Team members. During the interview, iChef sellers are assessed on their cooking experience, motivation for preparation and cooking with iChefz, and community involvement. This helps us ensure that all of our iChef sellers will provide customers with an exceptional experience.

Guest Reviews

To further increase our Chefs’ accountability to their customers, iChefz collects reviews from food attendees after each package and food. iChef buyers assess each purchase on the basis of quality, pick up experience (if available), portion size, and value. As part of our review system, iChef buyers can leave public reviews, leave personal messages to the Chef, and/or leave private messages to iChefz staff.

We are incredibly proud of the community of iChef sellers, customers, neighbors and friends that share in the iChefz experience. We have developed this platform dedicated to sharing food, and creating a healthier, more practical food system with a wide variety of food style selections.

Understand the Experience

iChefz isn’t a restaurant – we support a network of talented iChef sellers who want to share their culture, their compassion, and their recipes. Our iChef sellers combo their own menus and schedules, and prepare or cook the way that is most authentic to their lifestyle. While we power a diverse group of humans and many types of experiences, all of our iChef sellers are sharing the packages or dish/combo that they’ve created with care.

Share Honest Feedback

Please share honest reactions to your dish/combo and your experience! If something seems off, let us know. Feedback is crucial to our community, so we always respond quickly to concerns from both iChef buyers and iChef sellers.

Be Open to Differences

Unlike chain restaurants and other industrialized food services, the iChefz experience isn’t exactly the same every time. Our iChef sellers come from different backgrounds, have different personalities, and enjoy preparing or cooking different kinds of food. The variety and uniqueness of each experience is something we embrace. It’s part of what makes our community so special!

Respect the iChef sellers

Remember that you are the Chef’s guest. Please don’t show up early or late (unless you’ve messaged the Chef in advance), always be mindful of your behavior, and respect their space.

Insurance

iChefz’s global support team is available 24 hours a day. And eligible iChef sellers are protected up to $1,000,000 with the iChefz’s Chef Guarantee.
